Alfamega Disappears After Being Booted?

Damn homie. That’s all I can say on about this guy. You went from being looked at as one of the realest niggas in the game, to being exposed as a snitch, to being kicked off your label, and now rumors are coming out that you are just going to disappear altogether.  We all have watched the quick destruction of Alfamega’scareer after last week’s announcement that he once went for the cheese in a 90’s weapons case.

Oddly though we haven’t heard anything from Alfa, not even a Ross trademarked “Photoshop!” excuse or anything.  While many assume the rat is just letting things cool down a little bit before tries to explain himself but I am hearing this is not the case. Friends formerly close to Alfa have also distanced themselves from him and are telling who ever will listen that Alfa is about to do a total Bin Laden and just vanish altogether.  The sources say Alfa is damn near suicidal over the turn his career has taken and wants to put it all behind him and sees disappearing as the only way.

Where will he go? Well the friends who were snitching on the snitch didn’t have that info but said for sure he is about to get out of Georgia at the least.  They also said he has no plans of coming back but just wants to leave all the embarrassment and shame he is now facing in his city and state.

No matter what the light will shine on our dark deeds people. Keep this in mind if your trying to be the next great MC, or even stand next to one.

Kelis Sex Tape?  In what would be her biggest headline in some time it looks like we might be seeing a Kelis sex tape coming out soon. Wendy Williams, the controversial radio host, declared on her show yesterday that she had a crystal clear video of Kelis and another man doing the deed. And it definitely is not her husbandNas. Rumors of this tape first came out a year ago when 50 Cent claimed he had possession of the tape but decided not to release it. Now Wendy said she has the tape and will sell it to the highest bidder. Why she has so much hate for Nas and Kelis and would want to do that is beyond me but this is what’s going down. Neither Nas or Kelis have responded and are probably just somewhere hoping and praying nothing comes out. Anyway stay tuned and we will let you know the developments as they come along.

Nas & Kelis Call It Quits

After many rumors have surfaced, it is official; Nas and Kelis are finally calling it quits! According to TMZ, Kelis has filed for divorce citing “irreconcilable differences.” The divorce papers were filed in court on Thursday, April 30th.

This is what TMZ had to say on the issue:
"Kelis wants to end her marriage to Nas, even though she's 7 months pregnant. Kelis filed for divorce today in L.A. County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences. She is asking for spousal support and child support. She is also asking for joint legal and physical custody of their unborn child."

Daaamnnnn Dammmmmn Dammmmn! First
Treach and Pepa now this?

I don’t know about anyone else, but I was rooting for these two, especially with their first son due early this summer. We need more strong couples in
Hip-Hop and they were definitely holding it down for a while!  Nas and Kelis had seven years together. They met back in 2002at one of Diddy’s MTV Video Music Awards after parties.

This news has also been confirmed by Kelis’ lawyer
Laura Wasser who told E! Online"I can confirm that she has filed for divorce," she wrote in a statement. "We request the media to respect her privacy during this very difficult time."

Well, even though I’m truly sad about this, sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Good luck you two!

Jay-Z Says There Is No Such Thing As Black Music, Nas and Kelis Call It Quits

Jay-Z has really been speaking out lately. His latest comments had to do with his feelings about music saying that, “There is no such thing as black music.”  Jay recently shared his thoughts after a performance at the University of Arizona where he shared the stage with artists like Kelly Clarkson andThird Eye Blind

Recently, Jay has been quoted saying that the “gangsta” no longer exists. To some, his latest comments may have been a bit radical but Hov is definitely speaking out about the state that Hip-Hop is in and the barriers that this genre seems to often times hold.

According to
Rap Radar, Jay had this to say:

"On the show as well were Third Eye Blind and Kelly Clarkson," Jay explained. "I thought that to be the oddest pairing ever but, soon realized, it's what I've always professed. There is no such thing as black music or white music only good or bad music. It's stupid cool to like things that are not like you, and that goes for outside of music. If you're an African American you can have a Jewish friend...I think concerts like this should happen more often...I'm putting that into the universe..next up Taylor Swift and Uncle Murda!!"

I’m forced to agree with Hov on this comment. Music crosses racial barriers because it’s deeper than color; good music touches the soul no matter who is behind the mic. So why has Hov all of a sudden been speaking out? Who knows the reasoning, but I think it’s a very good look for Hov to be speaking his mind.

Like I’ve said before, hopefully this will prompt other artists to step out and speak on it. I’d be interested to see what they have to say on this issue of color and music.

Whether you agree with Jay or not is irrelevant, I’m just glad a rapper is finally being quoted for saying something intelligent. Keep speaking out Jay!

Rapper Dolla reportedly shot, killed outside L.A. shopping mall

An Atlanta-based rapper was fatally shot in the valet waiting area of the Beverly Center mall Monday by a suspect who fled in a silver Mercedes SUV, according to police. Officers later detained a "person of interest" as he approached the ticketing area at Los Angeles International Airport armed with a gun. The shooting occurred about 3:10 p.m. in the parking garage of the popular Westside mall, sending diners in nearby restaurants diving for cover.

Dolla, a rapper whose real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II, was shot in the head as he and several other people stood near the center's La Cienega Boulevard entrance, according to police, witnesses and Dolla's publicist, Sue Vannasing. A friend of the rappers who was at the Beverly Center and a Los Angeles Police Department official also confirmed the victim's identity to The Times. Burton, 21, arrived at LAX from Atlanta earlier in the day and went to the Beverly Center to shop, Vannasing said. After the shooting, Burton was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center a few blocks from the mall, where he died, police said. The LAPD has not announced a motive for the attack or identified any suspects. Detectives are questioning a woman they detained at the scene and a man who allegedly drove from the mall to LAX in a rented silver Mercedes SUV. About an hour after the shooting, the LAPD issued a bulletin for a 20-year-old man considered a "person of interest" in the shooting. Los Angeles Airport Police officers spotted a man fitting the description in the ticketing lobby of Terminal 1. "The suspect was detained without incident [and] discovered to be armed," said Los Angeles World Airports spokeswoman Nancy Castles. Police later found the Mercedes in an airport parking lot. LAPD officials, who spoke on the condition that they not be named because of the continuing inquiry, said they are investigating whether the man was trying to get a flight out of L.A. Burton was an up-and-coming rapper who had recorded several singles. He was in town to work on his first album, slated to be released this summer on Jive Records, Vannasing said. His first single, released in 2007, was "Who the . . . Is That?"The killing comes 12 years after another shooting in Los Angeles threw the rap music business into turmoil. In that case, the rapper Notorious B.I.G. was shot to death outside the Petersen Automotive Museum, about two miles from the scene of Monday's killing. Theories over the motivation for that killing have caused controversy ever since. The LAPD has not released a narrative of what happened in the mall garage. But Vannasing said Burton apparently had a dispute with some people, perhaps at the airport."They followed him to the mall because they knew he was coming," Vannasing said. She added that Burton was at the mall with another rapper, D.J. Shabbazz.Police officials said they could not confirm or deny that account.Burton was born in Chicago in 1988 and moved with his family to the Los Angeles area and then to Atlanta, according to a biography on his MySpace.com page. The biography said he witnessed his father commit suicide at age 5 and turned to crime to support his family at 10. He began rapping at 12 and formed a group called Da Razkals Cru, according to the biography. The group impressed rappers P. Diddy and Missy Elliot. They signed a record contract in 2001. But within two years, Burton -- who was modeling for P. Diddy's clothing line, Sean John -- began a solo career. A song of his was included on the soundtrack for the 2006 dance movie "Step Up."The shooting rattled shoppers and diners. At a Chipotle restaurant near the valet area, 10 people were eating when the shots rang out."The customers were yelling, 'Close the store, close the store, because somebody is shooting!' " said Elsa Hernandez, general manager of the restaurant. The center is normally quite peaceful, said Hernandez, who has worked at the restaurant for six years. "This is the first time this has happened here," she said.Newton Cacho, 31, who works across the street from the Beverly Center, was stunned by the violence."I'm very surprised something like this happened here. You come to a nicer part of town and you don't expect this," Cacho said.Del Vaughn Walker, 44, had just left his car with valets and was heading to P.F. Chang's for lunch when he walked by a woman and three men, one of whom was Burton. There was no sign of an argument. But moments later he heard two gunshots, then three more. He ducked and ran into the restaurant. "I never would have expected this," he said. "You would have expected some kind of verbal confrontation."

Swizz Beatz Admits He Is In Love With Alicia Keys

Swizz tells us that, yes, he’s in love with Keys and, yes, she did give him a birthday party at that museum. “But we’re nowhere near ready for a baby or a ring,” laughs Swizz, aka Kasseem Dean. “This whole song is not about Alicia. The part about her cooking breakfast for me naked — she never done that for me.” Damn. Swizz didn’t want to talk about Keys till now because, he says, “What we have is so precious.” He also felt it would aggravate Mashonda, who’s also a singer.

You can hear Swizz Beatz talk about Alicia Keys on his, “Best I Ever Had,” remix. I salute Swizzy on landing Ms.Keys she is a problem and she is rich.

T.I. Is Likely To Be In Jail For 2 Months
The rapper, the self-proclaimed “King of the South,” had faced a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each charge in his three-count indictment. Harris will be credited for 305 days of home detention he already has served after being charged, so his stay at the Forrest City prison likely will be only two months. Upon his release, Harris will be on probation for three years. He also must pay a $100,000 fine as part of his sentence.
If this is true T.I.’s lawyers must be getting a crazy bonus and rumors of him snitching will be refueled. I could of sworn T.I. said he would be gone for a year on his show.

Gucci Mane Says 'Trap' Remix Verse Is One Of Cam'ron's 'Hottest'

They're now both guest stars on OJ Da Juiceman's remix of "Make the Trap Say Aye. "It was a good thing," OJ said on the video set last week, talking about Cam'ron jumping on the record. "I been listening to him since I was coming up," OJ added. "He's been in the game, I'm just getting in the game. He's a well-known rapper. He's dropped good bars. ... It was a lot of fun working with my dude. It was a real good thing Cam'ron jumped on that record the way he did, 'cause [he] killed that thang."

"Cam'ron has a crazy style," Gucci said. "He killed the verse. It's one of the hottest verses I heard from Cam in a minute."

Cam'ron was supposed to be in the video, shot Tuesday, but he had a problem with his flight and didn't make it down to the A. In the clip, Gucci, DJ Holiday and Nicki Minaj are being chased through the 'hood by the feds, and evade the authorities by fleeing from different locations.

"The concept is just coming from being a street artist and making street music," OJ explained. "[It] was right up my alley, the best concept I could have ever come up with."

OJ is hoping the record will raise his profile on a national level.

"I've been working for a minute and the exposure has just been arriving, like, late 2007, early 2008," Juice said. "It's just a beautiful thing, I love it. I plan on making big, big music."

Gucci has his own set of goals too — he wants to go international.

"It feels good being back on these streets," Gucc said about his recent release from prison. He also said his time inside improved his skills.

"I think I'm more hardworking — I write faster, think quicker," Gucci offered. "I'm more creative, more clever. I'm a better rapper now. That time made my pen better."

The original mix of "Make the Trap Say Aye" appears on OJ's underground LP The Otha Side of The Trap ... , and he has a new album coming soon. Meanwhile, Gucci Mane has just started working on his next album and says it will be out this year, although no specific release date has been set.
